In September 2021, Mobility Outlook held a panel discussion called “Unravelling the luxury vehicle market potential” on day two of its event. Amit Garg, Director, Shiva Group, joined Santosh Iyer, VP (Sales & Marketing), Mercedes-Benz India, and Utkarsh Singhania, Director, Titania Autobike. Avik Chattopadhyay, Co-Founder, Expereal, moderated the session.
Key points.
Amit Garg: customers had moved to higher ticket sizes, from cars costing ₹60–70 lakh to cars costing over ₹1 crore.
Santosh Iyer: business professionals were now travelling by road rather than taking flights, so the need for personal mobility had grown, and demand was higher than supply.
Utkarsh Singhania: moving the marketing budget from conventional to digital channels helped reach a wider area and more customers.
Avik Chattopadhyay: the customer experience should be omnichannel, and owning a luxury car is now part of the journey rather than the destination.
These points are from Mobility Outlook’s summary of the session.
