The report showed the safety steps in place, with a thermal scanner at the entrance and staff in protective suits sanitising the showroom. It noted that most car enquiries were now coming in online or by phone.

The report added that more buyers might book cars digitally in the months ahead, with home delivery, digital paperwork and digital payments.
